Day 103: Collaborative Annotation of Key Passages in TKAM

1. WordSkills. Today we started out by making some Apples-to-Apples cards for words 11-20 of Unit 5.

2. Collaborative Annotation. Students chose one key passage from the chapters we read for the day to annotate (Download here: TKAM Collaborative Annotation Web Version). After 10 minutes, students switched papers with someone who annotated a different passage. This let students ask and answer questions and get a second opinion on their interpretation of the passage. Finally, students are writing a paragraph in response to a prompt regarding the passage.

HW: Paragraph on Passage Annotation due tomorrow. Read through end of novel. Visual Journal through Ch. 31. Final Visual Journal will be due Monday, so don’t rush to get it done tonight and do a sloppy job!
