ALEXA GARVOILLE

Alexa Garvoille is a writer, educator, and creative writing studies scholar. They teach at the School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, NC and serve on the board of the Creative Writing Studies Organization. Alexa holds a BA in Literature from Yale, an MA in Teaching from Duke, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Virginia Tech. As an educator, Garvoille has taught students from middle school to graduate school, but they most enjoys facilitating the creative writing of young adults. Their research areas include creative writing pedagogy, anti-racist education, and alternative workshop methods.
