1. Reading Check. Students took a reading quiz on “Liberty” or “Winter Dreams.” If you were absent, see Ms. Fowler right away to make up the quiz.
2. “The Moth.” Students reviewed the reading from yesterday and then, in groups, listed the characteristics of the moth in the passage. Then, students chose what they thought the moth represented.
3. Symbolism charts. In groups, students worked to complete a chart defending their choice. The chart included a topic sentence, three points of support, elaboration for each point, and a conclusion sentence.
