1. Students took notes on WordSkills vocab.
2. Plot notes. We discussed the seven steps of plot and students took notes on L8. Steps: exposition, inciting incident, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution, conclusion/dénouement.
3. Plotting out the personal essay. Students gathered in groups to map out how the personal essay they read would fit the plot diagram. This is due for homework tomorrow. Here’s an electronic version of the assignment: Plot Diagram.
HW: Complete plot diagram of the personal essay you read. You may work with another student / group on this outside of class. Write a summary of each step of the plot on your diagram. Include a theme statement at the bottom.
Absentees: Get notes on V1/V1.5 (wordskills) as well as L8 from a friend.
