Today students continued working to write their research into complete paragraphs. Then students got a tour around Wikipedia with their newfound Wikipedia usernames! And a camera crew was in our class taking video of folks using BYOT to set up their Wikipedia accounts.
1. Finish writing paragraphs about research.
2. Students followed the directions here:

1. Focused freewrite: What coincidences have happened so far in R & J? What bad decisions have been made? In Act III, we will examine the idea of Fate vs. Free Will more closely.
2. Group analysis of binaries in Act II. Students chose one of the following binaries to explore more in depth: Age and Youth, Moderation and Passion, or Healing and Poison. Then, they received a short passage about the binary with a set of questions attached. Here are all the different options in one document: II.iii Opposites. If you were absent, please download this six-page document and choose one two-page section to complete for homework.
HW: Finish worksheet on opposites we started in class. Read Act III, scene 1. All due tomorrow.
Watch it here and then reread/read your footnotes when you’re done.

Or the 1978 version is okay, too:
And make sure to check out this awesome version of Mercutio’s final monologue:

2. Collecting Song Analysis revision. Students wrote on their final copies what they changed in their song analysis. We then turned this in for another quiz grade.
3. Act II oral quiz. Lots of people struggled with this. Take your time as you read and summarize each sentence to yourself.
