Today’s worksheet: How to finish your Wikipedia project
For a journal:
{{Cite journal | last = | first = | authorlink = | coauthors = | title = | journal = | volume = | issue = | pages = | publisher = | location = | date = | url = | issn = | doi = | id = | accessdate = }}
For a newspaper or magazine:
{{Cite news | last = | first = | coauthors = | title = | newspaper = | location = | pages = | language = | publisher = | date = | url = | accessdate = }}
For a website (i.e. the author’s website):
{{Cite web | last = | first = | authorlink = | coauthors = | title = | work = | publisher = | date = | url = | format = | doi = | accessdate = }}
If you are using the same source for multiple quotes: at the beginning of the first time you insert the citation before the {{, copy and paste
replace <ref> with <ref name=nicknameforsource>
Instead of nicknameforsource, write the author’s last name or the name of the journal.
Then, the next time you use the source for a quote, you don’t have to put in the entire citation again. Just put in the reference box
<ref name=nicknameofsource/>
